The World's Most Desired Wood.

No Two Ever Alike

Tree grains are shaped by the conditions they grow in. Since no two trees ever experience the same conditions, no two grains are ever alike. The pattern on your table is the only one of its kind.

Made to Age Beautifully

Over time, the colour deepens, the grains grow richer and the surface develops a warmth that only time can produce. Growing more beautiful with every meal, every gathering, every year that passes.

Anatomy of American Black Walnut.

1. Sapwood

The outermost layer of the living tree, sitting just beneath the bark. Lighter in colour than the centre, it once carried water and nutrients from root to canopy. Its pale tone varies from tree to tree.

2. Live Edge

The natural, uncut border of the tree trunk — left exactly as nature formed it. Every curve follows the original contour of the log. Because no two trees grow the same way, no two live edges are ever alike.

3. Wood Grain

Each line on the surface represents one full year of the tree's growth. Narrow lines mean slow, dense growth. Wider lines reflect years of abundance. Together they form the texture and movement of the slab.

4. Knot

Where a branch once grew from the trunk. As the tree expanded, the trunk grew around the branch base, locking it in. When cut open, it is revealed as the distinctive circular swirl you see here.

5. Pin knots

Small knots formed where a minor branch or bud once grew. Unlike larger knots, they cause minimal disturbance to the surrounding grain — appearing as tight, dark circles scattered across the surface.

6. Mineral Streaks

Each line on the surface represents one full year of the tree's growth. Narrow lines mean slow, dense growth. Wider lines reflect years of abundance. Together they form the texture and movement of the slab.

7. Colour Variation

Within one slab you find deep espresso, warm amber, and pale cream — all natural. Every tone is shaped by the tree's age and the minerals absorbed from the soil it grew in.

8. Crown

The sweeping arch pattern formed by the tree's growth rings when cut lengthways. Each ring runs the full circumference of the tree — sliced open, they emerge as nested arches that peak toward the centre.
