About Our Brand

Why are you called Grey & Sanders? Are you a Singaporean brand?

Contrary to popular belief, our founders are not called Grey & Sanders. Our namesake can be attributed to Grey, our preferred colour due to its versatility in design, and Sanders the first piece of woodworking equipment we owned, which also serves as a reminder of our roots as makers.

Why did you get started in furniture?

Our team has strong grounding in the design and manufacturing of products and spaces. Being in this industry allows us to express our creative impulses, and bring joy to our customers in the process.

Is Grey & Sanders Sustainable?

We advocate sustainability by first, selling only high-quality furniture that will last. While not 100% carbon neutral and sustainable, we rediscover the art of conscious living through everyday commitments, such as practising a zero-waste wood policy and using only organic, food safe wood finishes for our wood slabs. Explore our Conscious Corner in our Workshop to find out more.

About Our Wood

Where are your woods from? Where are they finished?

We source all around the world to bring to you a large variety of wood, including American Black Walnut, American Ashwood, and Indonesian Teak. All of our wood are legally sourced and harvested from sustainably managed forests.

How do we guarantee the authenticity of your wood?

We have certificates of sustainability and authenticity for our Walnut and Teak suppliers. In any case, these woods have unique grains that are impossible to fake.

Can your tables be used outdoors?

We can coat any of our wood slab tables with an outdoor finishing at an additional cost of $350. Please note that even with this finishing, the tables should not be directly placed under the elements but instead somewhere sheltered.

How are your wood slabs finished?

Most of our slabs are finished with a Belgian hardwax-oil called Rubio Monocoat. It offers organic, food-safe protection for the wood whilst maintaining its natural beauty. Rubio Monocoat’s technology also ensures that our wood slabs can be touched-up or refinished easily.

I can’t find any suitable wood slabs in your inventory. Could you help to source for a suitable one?

With over 300 curated wood slabs in our inventory, we are amongst the most well-stocked retailers in Singapore. However, if you cannot find a suitable piece, we can source one for you, albeit at a longer lead time of 12-16 weeks.

What level of customisation do you offer?

We offer full customisation for our wood slabs on request. Kindly expect an additional 2 – 3 weeks of lead time for all custom projects.

Can we cut a piece down to a size we want?

We offer cutting services for a small fee. Any leftover pieces can be made into coffee tables or stools for you!

Can my table be refinished?

If you feel that your table has accumulated too much wear and tear, we can refinish your table again. We recommend all our customers to purchase our Wood Care service. This will provide you with 5 years of coverage that allows you to refinish your wood as many times as you need, at a discounted price of $280 each.

About Our Sofas

What types of leather do you have? What is the difference between these?

We have leather ranging from full-grain to top-grain leather, originating from Italy, Germany, Brazil, and other Asian sources.

Can your sofas be customised in size?

The upholstery of some of our sofas can be customised, and some sofas come in 2, 2.5 and 3 seat variants, so you can find a suitable size for your needs.

How do I care for my sofa?

For leathers without a topcoat, vacuum and wipe with a semi-dry cloth. For leathers with a topcoat, you can use a wetter cloth with some mild soap.
